Diverse Alliance of Nonprofits Sues Over NSA Surveillance - Philanthropy Today - The Chronicle of Philanthropy- Connecting the nonprofit world with news, jobs, and ideas: An unusually broad coalition of nonprofit organizations has joined forces in a legal challenge to the National Security Agency’s electronic monitoring program, the Associated Press and Bloomberg write.
Nineteen plaintiffs ranging from environmental and human-rights organizations to gun-rights activists and religious groups joined in the suit filed Tuesday by the Electronic Frontier Foundation, challenging what they termed an “illegal and unconstitutional program of dragnet electronic surveillance.”
