House measure aims to build philanthropy, community foundations in Alaska | The Republic: JUNEAU, Alaska — A bill aimed at building philanthropy and community foundations has been introduced in the Alaska House.
He says communities without existing foundations will have a way to get endowed funds in place to support local priorities.
House Bill 290 would create the Endow Alaska grant program. The measure envisions an annual grant to a lead philanthropic organization that in turn would offer grants to community foundations with a 1-to-1 match for every dollar raised.
