Editorial: Michigan should broaden charitable immunity to help the uninsured - Grand Rapids Opinion - Editorials, Letters, Voices - MLive.com: "Lawmakers should support legislation to make it easier for retired doctors to volunteer their services at free and low-cost health clinics. A bill in the state House aims to make more clinics eligible for doctors to donate care with immunity from most lawsuits. Physicians willing to donate their expertise for the medical care and treatment of indigent people deserve some protection. The measure could encourage more volunteer efforts at a time when many Michiganders are without health care and state and local resources are limited."
